You may fear embarrassing yourself if you were hypnotized, as many hypnotists often encourage you to do hilarious things they would typically never do while hypnotized. When you’re daydreaming, you’re more susceptible. Nevertheless, your therapist will never encourage you to do anything awkward, and you will be in a secure, confidential setting where everything you say is kept a secret.
2. Lose Sense of Control
You may think, what if I get nervous and lose control if I enter into a trance? You don’t have to panic, as this is not how it really works. Yes, you will feel more relaxed when you’re in a trance, but you will not lose control, and your therapist won’t be instructing you around, either. Instead, your therapist will smoothly guide you through the experience so that you can express what you’re imagining. You need not worry, as you will preserve your sense of control through the complete session.
